Medical Education

The world of medicine is ever growing and evolving, and health professions education needs to grow and evolve in tandem. As expectations of healthcare professionals shift, there are increasing opportunities to teach and assess students in new ways, but there are also more challenges. I work with health professions educators to ensure that they are developing exam content that is clear and defensible. I also provide insight into assessment methods that will help inform faculty instruction and clarify where students need additional guidance.

Giving and Receiving Feedback

Giving and receiving feedback is challenging on both sides. I illustrate how to see the experience as essential for growth and improvement and to identify ways to make giving and receiving feedback more fulfilling. Workshops in this domain focus on sharing experiences with peers, role playing challenging conversations, and working to shift cultures at institutions so that feedback is seen by participants as safe and part of a continuous improvement mindset.

Writing and Editing

Communicating clearly and succinctly is essential. I can work with you to write and edit content in a variety of domains, from exam questions to website copy. I have experience in areas such as editing medical exam questions, writing human-interest stories for running store newsletters, and editing social media posts for athletic coaches. I make it a priority to retain my clients’ voices in their writing while still providing substantive edits to ensure their message gets across.
