I read this quote for the first time many years ago, and it’s been a mantra for me in my personal and my professional life. But in March of 2024, I made it a literal directive as I quit my job of 24 years to hike the Appalachian Trail.

I’m excited to start a business based on my professional interests and to explore how my personal interests connect with the work I have done and want to do. I enjoy long-distance hiking and see it as a metaphor for life. I’m happy when I can spend time in nature. I’m a lifelong learner and someone who prioritizes my relationships with others.
